L'Oreal Paris RevitaLift Skin Care Line

L’Oreal Paris is a name that has notoriety across the world, from the United States to Austrailian and nearly everywhere in between. It’s mass recognition and widespread availability make it a go-to for many a modern woman on the go. L’Oreal claims that their variety of treatment options can help in the battle against the signs of aging to repair and replenish, not only fighting back what signs already exist, but keeping new ones at bay as well. Naturally, L’Oreal advises that their products work well in conjunction with one another, but can also be mixed and matched with other brands to create a skin care routine that is as unique as your skin.

RevitaLift Triple Power Intensive Anti-Aging Day Cream

RevitaLift Triple Power Intensive Anti-Aging Day Cream

The Triple Power Intensive Anti-Aging Day Cream is currently the cornerstone of the RevitaLift line, as well as one of L’Oreal’s best sellers. It is formulated with Pro-Xylane, a patented ingredient developed and tested exclusively by parent company, Lancome. This cream addresses the key signs of aging, including wrinkles, fine lines, crow’s feet, dark circles, and sagging skin. It aims to create a smooth, supple feeling and firmer appearance, reinvigorating years past and restoring youth more and more with each application.

For best results, L’Oreal recommends combining this day cream with at least four other RevitaLift products for a full skincare routine of cleansing, moisturizing, replenishing, and rejuvenating. For general use, L’Oreal advises that during a morning routine, users should first cleanse with their RevitaLift Radiant Smoothing Cream Cleanser, then use the Triple Power Intensive Anti-Aging Day Cream, followed by the Triple Power Serum and finished with makeup, if so desired. At night, customers are invited to reapply the day regimen as needed, followed by RevitaLift Deep-Set Wrinkle Repair Night Facial Lotion before bed. Other products are included for more specific needs, like skin tone correction, eye-centric spot treatment, or SPF.

L’Oreal sells their RevitaLift Triple Power Intensive Anti-Aging Day Cream on their website for $24.99, not including shipping and handling. It is also available in-stores at retailers like Walmart, Target, Walgreens, CVS, and Ulta.

RevitaLift Bright Reveal Brightening Daily Peel Pads

RevitaLift Bright Reveal Brightening Daily Peel Pads

Along with an entire anti-wrinkle system, L’Oreal’s RevitaLift includes these Brightening Daily Peel Pads which claim to reveal brighter, smoother skin with just one use. They are composed with a 10% concentration of Glycolic Complex, an incredibly popular Alpha Hydroxy Acid (also known as AHAs). While their own formulated Pro-Xylane is missing from this particular product, it still claims to be able to reduce the appearance of wrinkles in 30 days with daily use.

There are 30 individual pads in one container of product, meaning that this purchase will have to be made monthly, unlike many of the other additions in the line which can last from six months to a year with sparing but regular use. At a price point of $19.99 per pack, it is not a terrible amount to contribute monthly towards younger-looking skin, but over a year that cost might be a bit much for some customers to justify.

This product is a little more difficult to find on store shelves, particularly in smaller pharmacies, but is still carried widely by big box stores like Walmart and Target. It is also available online.

RevitaLift Complete Day Cream with SPF 18

L’Oreal RevitaLift Complete Day Cream with SPF 18

RevitaLift Complete Day Cream with SPF 18 is very similarly formulated to the cornerstone product, but with the addition of SPF protection. With skin care and sun damage being closely linked, it is wise to incorporate what should be a part of everyone’s morning routine into a two-for-one product. L’Oreal claims that this cream has all of the benefits of their line leader, with an added boost of SPF. While the ingredient list reads a bit differently than its parent product, a deeper dive reveals that this particular cream is better formulated for sensitive skin. It is milder in terms of wrinkle-fighting, but makes for a good daily addition nonetheless.

L’Oreal has boosted the SPF in other products, while this one remains at a slightly small 18, but even at that, it only takes SPF 15 to block up to 90% of the sun’s harmful rays. In this case, some protection is miles better than none, and it does allow users some control over just how much SPF they want to use.

This product is available anywhere that L’Oreal is known to be sold, but a notable inclusion here is Amazon. It seems to be the most readily available source, likely as this cream may get overshadowed by its best selling counterpart. It retails for $19.99 from L’Oreal, but may be available at a lesser price elsewhere.

RevitaLift Miracle Blur

RevitaLift Miracle Blur

L’Oreal is adamant that their RevitaLift Miracle Blur is not a moisturizer or a foundation, but a sort of skin primer. They describe it as an innovative, first-of-its-kind skin “smoother” that erases any trace of lines, wrinkles, and pores, yet leaves skin with a velvety matte finish that lasts all day long. RevitaLift again advises to use this in conjunction with products from the rest of the line, beginning with the Triple Power Concentrated Serum and/or the Triple Power Eye Treatment. Then, follow up with the Triple Power Intensive Anti-Aging Day Cream, and finish with the Miracle Blur. It can be used alone or under foundation, and as an all-over application or in desired trouble spots for extra coverage.

The matte finish is accomplished with talc, and in a very strange twist for most cosmetics, water is the last ingredient on the list instead of the first. This blurring miracle apparently seeps into trouble areas to offer a temporary disguise, allowing the appearance of smoother, younger skin while not actively working to achieve it. That is the main reason it is suggested to be used alongside other products in this line; so that they can work under the cover of the blur.

Like others of its line, this product is available in-stores and from online retailers. It is stocked at Walmart, Target, CVS, and Walgreens, as well as available on Amazon and L’Oreal’s website. It retails for $24.99, not including shipping and handling if ordered online.

RevitaLift Triple Power Concentrated Serum

RevitaLift Triple Power Concentrated Serum

The RevitaLift Triple Power Serum is another best-seller in the series, as well as for L’Oreal in general. It is said to repair wrinkles from within, firm the naturally formed contours of the skin when it begins to sag, and thicken and strengthen any areas that have weakened. That is a whole heck of a lot for one little bottle to do! But this serum isn’t a best-seller for no reason. It is full of L’Oreal’s specially formulated Pro-Xylane, and paired with the popular and ever-effective Hyaluronic Acid for an unbeatable combo of skin saving power.

It is no wonder this serum is recommended by L’Oreal to accompany each of the others in the line. Aside from the front-running day cream, this serum is the heavy-hitter of the group, packing the most punch in the tiniest package. The makers advise that it can be used all over facial skin, but keeping it to trouble spots may turn out to be more economical, since it comes in a teeny, tiny one-ounce bottle. Despite the size, the price is no smaller than the rest of the line.

You can find this product on the same shelves at Walmart and Target, and perhaps Ulta, but likely not at pharmacies. It maintains the brand’s seemingly preferred price point of $24.99.

RevitaLift Triple Power Eye Treatment

RevitaLift Triple Power Eye Treatment

For those of us who tend to show our age around our eyes the most, L’Oreal’s RevitaLift line includes this turbo-charged Triple Power Eye Treatment. It claims to do much the same as its predecessors, but is specially formulated to work on the particularly tender skin around our eyes. Along with reducing the appearance of wrinkles, this cream also lifts heavy under eye bags and firms the overall eye area. Like many of the others, this product too is created with L’Oreal’s Pro-Xylane and Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid. It also includes LHA for a more even skin tone.

Within a week, fine lines around the eyes are visibly reduced, and supposedly within four weeks, they can be nearly gone all together. This particular product comes packaged in a slender tube with a cooling applicator tip, for a serene, spa-like experience at home, as well as increased control over placement and no wasted product on fingertips. When selling such a small portion, that last addition to reduce waste is incredibly considerate of L’Oreal.

This eye treatment is sold in stores like Walmart, Target, CVS, and Walgreens, as well as online at Amazon and L’Oreal’s website for the retail price of $24.99 for a half ounce.

RevitaLift Radiant Smoothing Cream Cleanser

RevitaLift Radiant Smoothing Cream Cleanser

The RevitaLift Radiant Smoothing Cream Cleanser is a huge departure from the rest of the line, but no less integral to a healthy skin care routine. In every instance for each other product on RevitaLift’s list, the manufacturers recommend using this cleanser first to ensure gently exfoliated, perfectly clean and smooth skin prior to adding anything else. There are no anti-wrinkle ingredients present, and no big moisturizers, though the product does note it takes care to exfoliate as gently as possible and leave skin nourished and radiant.

A good cleanser is a must-have for anyone and everyone who puts any product at all on their face. Be it just a little concealer or a full face of makeup, everybody needs something to wash that all away and start with a fresh, clean slate. This Smoothing Cream Cleanser is L’Oreal’s proposed solution. While it is formulated to be gentle, take care to note that those with sensitive skin should wait fifteen to twenty minutes or longer before proceeding to the next step after thing one in their skin care routine, just to ensure that the skin doesn’t become irritated.

Unlike the rest of the line, this cleanser comes in a whopping five-ounce container for the price of only $6.99. It can be found in all the same stores, including Walmart, Target, CVS, Walgreens, and Ulta, as well as online at Amazon or L’Oreal’s website.

RevitaLift Deep-Set Wrinkle Repair Night Facial Lotion

RevitaLift Deep-Set Wrinkle Repair Night Facial Lotion

L’Oreal intends their Deep-Set Wrinkle Repair Night facial lotion to be the last step before bed, and a huge leap towards freedom from wrinkles. It is an intensive restoration aimed at reducing the size, depth, appearance, and formation of all facial wrinkles, whether fine or deep. Clinical tests conducted by parent company, Lancome, showed that users found success after four weeks of continued use alongside additional products from the RevitaLift line. It is crafted to be the endcap of an at least four-step skin care process.

It works well in conjunction with the other products as it is formulated to keep in place over a full night of sleeping, meaning if you apply a full face of expensive creams, oils, serums, and other product, then follow with this lotion, everything will stay on your skin as you sleep, even if you toss and turn and your face rubs against your pillow. With this lotion, not a drop of your anti-aging investment is wasted.

This product caps off the line with the most expensive price tag we have seen yet. It is available mostly online from Amazon or directly from L’Oreal, as stores seem to be sold out and there is no word on whether or not they will be restocked. It retails for $49.99 for a bottle containing 1.7 ounces.

RevitaLift Filler Hyaluromask

While this line already includes several creams to ward aging, L’Oreal has opted to include this anti-aging ‘mask’ as well. But what makes this mask different from the others in the lineup? Well, RevitaLift Filler Hyaluromask contains a first-of-its-kind ingredient that not even the others in the line possess: millions of microscopic plumping beads which infuse the skin with the mighty, moisturizing Hyaluronic Acid.

While many of the other products in this line by L’Oreal include Hyaluronic Acid in some form, this mask is the only one with their patent pending microbead technology, which is supposed to penetrate deeper down into the dermis, resulting in a smoother, softer skin overall. L’Oreal advises that for best results, this mask should be combined with the rest of their product line, in order to address the most stubborn aging concerns with the most swift correction.

With two various methods for either gradual results or a quick recovery, this product proves to be incredibly versatile.  It can be applied as a short-term mask and left for 15 to 20 minute ‘light’ treatments three times weekly, or left on overnight for a dramatic change in a fraction of the time. It all depends on what your skin needs.

L’Oreal sells their RevitaLift Filler Hyaluromask on their website for $17.99, not including shipping and handling. It is also available in-stores at retailers like Walmart, Target, Walgreens, CVS, and Ulta.

What Makes the L’Oreal Paris RevitaLift Skin Care Line Different from Other Product Lines?

With the use of their own patented formula, Pro-Xylane, L’Oreal sets itself apart, though not for good reasons alone. Some of the products vary in availability, which is to be expected with any line as more popular options are more broadly shipped to the big stores, while the lesser used are mostly available online. They offer an incredibly wide range for a plethora of issues and skin types, perhaps to the point that it’s a bit dizzying to attempt to make a selection. Buying the four recommended will run you at least $100, and buying anything additional will be the same consistent price. Their main ingredients tend towards the positive, but when we really inspect the labels the story changes a bit, and not for the better.

L’Oreal Paris RevitaLift Skin Care: Are There Causes for Concern?

Aside from the swath of complaints about how long the products take to work and how many must be used in conjunction to see results, there are additional hidden issues to be wary of when purchasing from this line. In the Miracle Blur, we see ingredients like Mica, which are very often tested on animals. L’Oreal claims to be a cruelty-free company, but if they source Mica from a dispenser which is not, there is no way of knowing if their products are tainted by animal testing. There is controversy between L’Oreal and Peta as it currently stands, though L’Oreal continues to deny any claims of animal testing with their products.

Questionable morality and oversized investment aside, there are a few other ingredients common among these products which raise red flags. Their flagship wrinkle-fighter, Pro-Xylane, has been developed and tested exclusively by parent company, Lancome. That leaves a huge gap for bias regarding efficacy and safety. And on top of that, a handful of products still contain parabens, even after recent controversy revealed they could be related to an increased risk of cancers.
