Revitalift Filler Hyaluromask Review

RevitaLift Filler Hyaluromask Overview

From the makers of the entire RevitaLift line, L’Oreal has added a new product to their already expansive anti-aging arsenal: RevitaLift Filler Hyaluromask. This product is the first of its kind in their line-up, featuring hundreds of microscopic plumping beads to infuse your skin with the mighty, moisturizing, Hyaluronic Acid.

However, there is no need for surgery with this filler. It works from the outside in, permeating deep and bringing fresh moisture to rejuvenate the skin’s natural plumpness and hydration. This leave-on anti-aging mask is made to replump wrinkles, reshape contours, and relax your features, all at once.

A Closer Look at RevitaLift Filler Hyaluromask

Although it may fulfil its promises and deliver a youthful appearance, are there dangers lurking below the label which could apply a hidden cost to this otherwise affordable innovation? While the ingredients list does contain a few gems like Dimethiconol, Squalane, and Hyaluronic Acid, it is also home to parabens and fungicides.

While none of those ingredients are illegal to include in an anti-aging cream, there is still much debate over the hidden connections between parabens and specific types of breast cancer. The current thinking is that microdoses will not be harmful, but there is no guarantee.

If you prefer natural, organic products, then this is likely not the mask for you.

However, fans of L’Oreal do seem to be passionate about this cream, giving it a four out of five stars on their website with an overwhelmingly positive tone. It is important to bear in mind, however, that reviews are not always authentic and can be falsified. There are no purchase verifications to go through to make a review for them.

RevitaLift Filler Hyaluromask Key Ingredients

The list of ingredients in this cream is lengthy, and while that isn’t automatically a bad sign, this case isn’t any proof of the opposite. While there are plenty of anti-agers and hydrating powerhouses, the second half of the ingredient list leaves something to be desired. Not only are there artificial preservatives, but potentially cancerous parabens as well. And it isn’t only one problem ingredient, either. The list of good versus bad ingredients is almost equal, which makes this tough to give it any rating above average.

PROPYLENE GLYCOL

More often than not, this delivery ingredient is included at the top of many an ingredient list just for the sheer fact that it keeps most products from melting in high heat or freezing at low temperatures. It can be used in commercial grade anti-freeze, as well as in your skin cream. But not to worry. Toxicologists have ruled this ingredient as safe and relatively harmless when applied topically in small concentrations. It also helps active ingredients penetrate deeper into the skin, which can be a positive or negative, depending entirely on the accompanying ingredients.

DIMETHICONE

If you are plagued with dry skin or eczema, look for products with Dimethicone in the label. This ingredient creates a barrier against skin irritants, protecting the dermis from harm. It also helps to prevent water loss, keeping skin’s natural moistness and locking in the moisture provided by other ingredients like Glycerin, and in this case, Hyaluronic Acid as well.

METHYLPARABEN

In nature, this chemical is actually an insect pheromone. In cosmetic use, it largely acts as a fungicide. In tests done on rats, it has been shown that large doses of Methylparaben mimic the activity of estrogen. While the US FDA still recognizes parabens like Methylparaben safe for use in small doses, there has been an uproar of controversy. Countless studies have been done to show its lack of toxicity, and yet other studies indicated that it could react poorly with UVB and lead to premature skin aging. The paraben wars rage on, and while both sides have their arguments as to whether or not this ingredient is dangerous, it’s still on consumer shelves. 1

PHENOXYETHANOL

Phenoxyethanol acts as a germicide as well as an insect repellent. It is used to extend the shelf-life of many skin-care products.  Recent research has shown it can suppress the nervous system and potentially lead to fertility troubles, specifically difficulty in attaining pregnancy. 2

PARFUM / FRAGRANCE

The word ‘fragrance’ is rarely a welcome one on an ingredient list, mostly because it is a catchall term for whatever chemical mystery meat manufacturers want to include. Almost any ingredient can fall under this wide umbrella, as long as it has a scent. Companies do not have to disclose their ‘fragrance’ ingredients, as they can be seen as proprietary.

Directions: How to Use RevitaLift Filler Hyaluromask

There are two different ways to utilize L’Oreal’s newest mask product. The first is described as an “instant replumping boost”. For this application, apply a thin layer of cream over freshly cleansed skin for two to three times a week. Massage to activate the beads, and allow to sit for fifteen minutes before removing any excess moisture with a cotton pad. This will yield gentle, gradual results.

Or, if you would like an intense recovery, L’Oreal advises applying the mask in a slightly thicker layer and cleaving overnight to allow the formula to fully infuse. In the morning, remove any excess moisture with a cotton pad if necessary.

L’Oreal claims their product can be used daily, but if you are prone to oily skin or breakouts it would be wise to utilize sparingly. Also, prior to an intense overnight mask, be sure to test a small patch of skin for irritation.

The Final Word on RevitaLift Filler Hyaluromask

In the end, the RevitaLift Filler Hyaluromask seems to be well-received, and reports say that it does indeed help, though it might take some time if not doing the intense overnight treatments. However, with the iffy choice in preservatives and other problematic ingredients, we advise you to steer clear if you’re hoping for something organic and guaranteed to be completely safe.
